An American Daughter
A prophetic reflection of the modern political era, Wendy Wasserstein’s An American Daughter follows Lyssa Dent Hughes (Golden Globe winner Keri Russell), an accomplished doctor and the President's newly-named nominee for Surgeon General. While her confirmation at first seems inevitable, Lyssa is stunned when the vetting of her past leads to a scandal that threatens to derail her future. Directed by Emmy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award-winner Christine Lahti and featuring an all-star cast, proceeds from the reading will benefit She Should Run (www.sheshouldrun.org), a non-profit organization committed to “expanding the talent pool of future elected female leaders.”The evening is produced by The Indigo Theatre Project (Nick Gereffi, Artistic Director and Rachel Sussman, Executive Producer), a theatre company that strives to unite passion with purpose by producing readings of notable plays to benefit thematically relevant charitable organizations. Please note: Premium Admission, rows Orchestra D & E, includes invitation to a reception following the reading.
