An American Daughter

A prophetic reflection of the modern political era, Wendy Wasserstein’s An American Daughter follows Lyssa Dent Hughes (Golden Globe winner Keri Russell), an accomplished doctor and the President's newly-named nominee for Surgeon General. While her confirmation at first seems inevitable, Lyssa is stunned when the vetting of her past leads to a scandal that threatens to derail her future. Directed by Emmy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award-winner Christine Lahti and featuring an all-star cast, proceeds from the reading will benefit She Should Run (www.sheshouldrun.org), a non-profit organization committed to “expanding the talent pool of future elected female leaders.”

The evening is produced by The Indigo Theatre Project (Nick Gereffi, Artistic Director and Rachel Sussman, Executive Producer), a theatre company that strives to unite passion with purpose by producing readings of notable plays to benefit thematically relevant charitable organizations. Please note: Premium Admission, rows Orchestra D & E, includes invitation to a reception following the reading.
